In U.S., about 1/3 of the medico-legal complaints related to anesthesia are due to dental trauma, which is a minor but frequent problem.
The Airway ShieldTM acts as a physical barrier that mitigate the force applied over the incissors during tube placement, directly reducing patient trauma risk.

Making ETI easier, faster and safer
The Airway ShieldTM is made of a soft thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) medical-grade plastic and consists of four main components.
Enables the introduction of the laryngoscope.
Covers the patient mouth and protects the clinician from airborne virus and bacteria.
Allow the aspiration of secretions and/or aerosols.
Creates a semirigid pathway that guides the endotracheal tube towards the larynx, while protecting the patient’s teeth.

The sealed “Central Opening” allows the laryngoscope blade and endotracheal tube to pass through, while minimizing the spread of aerosols and droplets.

The ‘Shield’ covers the patient’s mouth and protects the operator from the risk of infection.

The sealed “Lateral Openings” allow the aspiration of secretions and/or aerosols.

The “Guiding-Channel” facilitates intubation by directing the endotracheal tube into the trachea. Its “Reinforced Area” also protects the teeth during intubation.

How it works
The Airway ShieldTM stabilizes the airway, keeping the mouth open, and guiding the endotracheal tube, which easily follows the direction set by the laryngoscope blade towards the vocal cords.
